While nerds all across the galaxy are rejoicing over Harrison Ford reprising his role in Star Wars, news of him joining Anchorman 2 certifies Harrison Ford as a true cinematic icon.
Following his grumpy turn as a news anchor in Morning Glory, Ford has signed on to join the cast of Anchorman: The Legend Continues to play another legendary newscaster who will match wits with Will Ferrell's Ron Burgundy.
As director Adam McKay said, the film finds Ron, Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd), Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), Champ Kind (David Koechner) and Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) heading to New York as the '70s dawn and cable news becomes big.
Involving themselves in the funny fracas are James Marsden, Kristen Wiig, Dylan Baker, Meagan Good and, if the rumours are true, John C. Reilly. The script was penned once again by Ferrell and McKay, and hits theater screens on December 20.
