May the Force of your inner nerd rejoice with the news of Han Solo's return. Details after the break!
It was only a matter of time before news became a bit more concrete about Star Wars: Episode VII. According to The Kidd (via El Mayimbe / Latino Review), a deal is done and in the books for Harrison Ford to reprise his role as Han Solo in the blockbuster sci-fi saga.
The House of Mouse made sure to snag the beloved smuggler for whatever story director J.J. Abrams will be kicking off in Episode VII—and you can't blame them! With word also coming down that Disney will be producing standalone films for Star Wars' other memorable characters, it only makes sense to have Ford's willing participation.
Rumors are also in the wind calling for a Han Solo origin story to tie into Abrams' own origin story. According to AintItCoolNews, "...it only makes sense to get the character fresh in people's minds, particularly younger generations of potential STAR WARS fans, who may not be as familiar with Solo."
What do you think? Will Disney go forth into a far, far, far away galaxy to bridge the gap between old and new Star Wars fans? Let us know in the comments below.
