From HBO to Showtime: Idris Elba to Guest Star on "The Big C"

After recently completing a hilarious, multi-episode stint on NBC’s The Office, Idris Elba is returning to his pay cable roots as a guest star on Showtime’s new, upcoming series, The Big C.

The Wire veteran will play a painter who forms a relationship with series star Laura Linney. Linney plays a suburban teacher who’s diagnosed with cancer.

Elba is currently signed on to appear in four episodes of The Big C, which also co-stars Precious star Gabourey Sidibe. The series premieres on Showtime on August 16th.—Ronke Idowu Reeves
