Heartbreaking: Lauryn Hill’s Mug Shot

Lauryn Hill has been making headlines lately but it’s not about her surprise performances anymore, tabloids are focusing on her upcoming jail stint for her tax troubles. More recently her mug shot has been circulating across the web after she plead guilty to owing more than $1.5 million dollars over 3 years ago.

The eight-time Grammy winner is facing three years in prison for not paying her taxes between the years of 2005 to 2007. Hill posted on her Tumblr page that she didn’t pay taxes when she withdrew from society for herself and her family’s well-being. She has since then rejected pop culture’s “climate of hostility, false entitlement, manipulation, racial prejudice, sexism, and ageism."

The Daily Mail reports that Hill’s Lawyer said she planned to pay the money back from 2005 to 2007. She is out on $150,000 bail and her sentencing hearing is on November 27.
