Heineken is partnering with Words, Beats & Life (www.wblinc.org) to launch a national Black History Month Art contest, in search for an up-and-coming artist to feature in the 2012 Heineken Black History Month Advertising Campaign.
The winner will receive $5,000 and their artwork will be featured across national print, and digital media during Black History Month in 2012.
The contest kicks off on February 1st. Aspiring artists are encouraged to upload their original artwork on the Heineken RedStar Facebook page (http://on.fb.me/g6HucJ) for the first three weeks of February 2011.
Between February 21st and the 28th, Heineken will leverage its Red Star Facebook Community to cast votes for their favorite design. The five submissions with the most votes will be considered by a panel of judges to decide the final winning artist. The winner will be announced on March 15th, 2011.
The Heineken 2011 Black History Month program will kick off with a campaign featuring artwork by acclaimed hip-hop artist Justin Bua, with a call to action for artist submissions for the campaign in 2012.
