"Harry Potter" veteran director David Yates shocked and amazed cinephiles all over the globe with his latest project announcement. Find out more after the jump.
According to Vulture, David Yates is eager to bring Tarzan, lord of the jungle, back to the big screen with Warner Bros. producing. With that in mind, comments on who the director should cast are already being thrown out there. While some would paint Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the vine-swinging hero, the former WWE champion has already signed on to play Hercules in Brett Ratner's actioner, and may not have time in his schedule to accept the gig.
"Yates is meeting with up-and-coming actors like 'Man of Steel's' Henry Cavill, 'Pacific Rim' headliner Charlie Hunnam, and 'True Blood's' Alexander Skarsgård," Vulture reports. "We also hear that the studio is keen to get a meeting with Tom Hardy, who has put in his time on the Warner Bros. lot with blockbusters such as "The Dark Knight Rises" and "Inception". Less clear is if the star of "Bronson" and "Warrior" shares the studio's same enthusiasm for that part.
