Don't panic, but the popular photo sharing mobile app Instagram is down. And it's the epitome of #firstworldproblems.
The service started not responding last night. According to reports, thunderstorms caused an outage at Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud in North Virginia -- where Instagram's servers are housed. The storm has also affected service to Pinterest and Netflix. But the bigger issue is residents who are without power in those regions.
No word on when the service will be restored. But Instagram responded with this:
Due to severe electrical storms, our host had a power outage, no data is lost – we've been working through the night to restore service
