A Hines Ward threat landed a Pittsburgh man in hot water.

The man, Joshua Auker, pleaded guilty to extortion charges after threatening the former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver last fall. Auker texted Ward’s assistant claiming to have damaging information about Ward, after learning his girlfriend formerly dated the NFL player.

Auker was seeking $15,000 in hush money, and claimed to have pictures and information that would damage Ward’s reputation. Instead, he’ll face two years of probation for the Hines Ward threat.
