Hope Solo Accuses 'Dancing' Co-Star of Slapping Her

Hope Solo Accuses 'Dancing' Co-Star of Slapping Her

Adelle Platon Posted August 19, 2012

Olympic soccer star Hope Solo makes a shocking claim in her new memoir that her 'Dancing with the Stars' co-star Maksim Chmerkovskiy allegedly slapped her in the face.

According to Fox News, the 31-year-old accuses Chmerkovskiy of using physical force when she would not get her dance moves right during rehearsals in her new book “Solo: A Memoir of Hope” .

“He manhandled me in rehearsals from the start, pushing me, whacking my stomach, bending my arms roughly. I thought that was just how it went – how dancers worked with each other,” she wrote. “But it kept getting worse. One day, Maks was trying to put me in a certain position and hit my stomach so hard with his open palm that I had a red handprint there for the rest of the day.”

Hope also alleges that one of his slaps left her ear ringing. She claims that ABC gave her the chance to switch partners after the incident but she stayed with him so as not to “end Maks’ career.”

Though Maks has not released an official statement, he tweeted Friday, “Life's best lessons are the ones that you smile through.....while they hurt you the most! I'm bullet proof....FIRE AWAY!
