Houston Family Interview Breaks Oprah's OWN Record Ratings

Houston Family Interview Breaks Oprah's OWN Record Ratings

Posted March 13, 2012

Sunday evening (March 11) Oprah Winfrey's OWN network raked in millions of viewers for her exclusive interview with Whitney Houston's only child Bobbi Kristina

, Whitney's brother Gary Houston and sister-in-law/manager Patricia Houston.

Airing exactly one month after the late singer's death, 3.5 million viewers watched "Oprah's Next Chapter" segment as she asked the questions that everyone wanted the answers to. After being taped on March 2, it was the most anticipated and promoted interview in television.

In the networks 14-month run it had only seen ratings as high as 1.6 million when Oprah interviewed Joel Olsteen. The Houston interview has set a new level to surpass.

This coming Sunday, Oprah will interview Lady Gaga and her mother Cynthia.

Will Gaga break the record?
