Thanks to all the controversy surrounding his "transgressions" at the end of last year, most of the sponsors that used to ride for Tiger Woods dumped him. But, as we reported back in January, Electronic Arts was not one of them. So Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, the new golf video game featuring the world's greatest text messager golfer, is still scheduled to come out this summer. And apparently, EA isn't pulling any punches, either, especially on the Wii version of the game.
Yesterday, gaming site IGN reported that Tiger Woods 11 features an innovative new "True View" that's a first for golf video games. Essentially, it gives you the opportunity to play a real round of golf and have it actually feel like you're playing a round of golf. Rather than the traditional third-person view of your golfer (which will still be available), Tiger Woods 11 gives you the chance to see the course, drive the golf ball and even putt through the eyes of your golfer. It's the latest way EA is using the Wii controller's MotionPlus feature to improve a sports-related game. Let's just hope you don't see any crazy women running at you with a golf club, eh? True view, indeed. —Chris Yuscavage
