It is no secret that Marvel has had a tough time holding onto an actor for its Hulk movies.
From Eric Bana to Edward Norton, the franchise has struggled to lock down a permanent Dr. Banner. Mark Ruffalo -- who appeared alongside Robert Downey Jr. in The Avengers -- is the latest Hulk to take a smash at the gig. And while he is confirmed to star in the sequel to the popular Avengers series, the actor took to his Twitter to address rumors of a solo film:
“A lot of folks have been asking about the Next Hulk. The next time you see my Hulk it will be in the Avengers2. No plans for stand alone.”
“I am not giving up on another stand alone HULK. But it’s not in the works right now. One never knows what the future will bring.”
And in an effort to keep the fans’ hope alive, Ruffalo made it clear that a solo Hulk film has not been totally written off.
“Just to be totally clear. I did not say there was not going to ever be a stand alone Hulk film,” he continued. “I said there wasn’t one in the works now.”
Avengers 2 is scheduled for a 2015 release.
