Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010's irreverent global hit: Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall. Last weekend, we had the pleasure of chatting with the cast behind the characters, and director Jeff Wadlow during a junket in New York City.
Another installment from comic book writer Mark Millar's popular Kick-Ass series is soon to hit the theaters. The picture follows up after the moments of Kick-Ass' (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson) do-it-yourself bravery and highlights the inspiration it caused around town. A new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the ultimate patriot Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey, who recently spoke out against this film), our hero joins them on patrol.
When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by a pissed-off Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse)—reborn as super-villain The Mvtherfvcker—only Hit Girl (Chloë Moretz) can prevent their annihilation.
Our chat with the three stars, and writer-director Jeff Wadlow, found us getting "behind the mask" of Hit Girl's persona; wondering if it was hard for Aaron to get back into the role and how The Mvtherfvcker went into a darker headspace.
