Interview: Xzibit on New Music and Exiting the Game

/ September 12, 2013

Although he was born in Detroit, Xzibit rose to fame as one of the West Coast’s most successful underground rap artists. Whether establishing himself as host of MTV’s Pimp My Ride, or acting with Oscar winner Nicolas Cage, Xzibit never stops making music.

The 38-year-old rapper now prepares for his eighth studio album, tentatively titled ‘Vanguard,’ but fans can also grab new music from the Serial Killaz, a rap group he formed with Cypress Hill’s B-Real, and rising rapper, Young De.

Xzibit sees his rap career as a musical journey with a beginning, middle and end. Despite his love for music, he reveals he will stay true to the meaning of “X” and will retire after his tenth album drops. Hopefully for fans, the music will continue even if “Xzibit” exits.
