Since Lil Wayne claims he’s putting an end to his thought-provoking Tweets, we figure he might pull the plug on Twitter altogether (even though he only has a few days left to Tweet anyway). Should Weezy choose to abscond, he’ll join a long list of entertainers who’ve packed their virtual bags. Check out this brief history of celebrities quitting Twitter. —Clover Hope

CHRIS BROWN (@MechanicalDummy)
When He Joined:
July 2009
When He Quit: December 2009
Final Tweet to Remember: “I WANNA THANK MY FANS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT. I LOVE YALL. GOODBYE!!!!!!!!!!!!”
What Happened: Chris Brown’s entire experience on Twitter was a poorly thought-out debacle. Things he did wrong: 1) Sparred with Tila Tequila. 2) Accused record stores of blackballing his new album. 3) Joined Twitter. After much criticism and jokes at his expense, Breezy finally decided to stop putting himself on blast.
Theory: It’s pretty obvious what really happened here… Jay-Z’s Illuminati clique and #Chrisbrownsbowtie conspired to telepathically persuade Chris to shut down his account.

CASSIE (@cassieventura)
When She Joined:
March 2009
When She Quit: February 2010
Final Tweet to Remember: “Early Valentine’s Day…Love it ;)”
What Happened: Aside from leaking nude photos murdering someone, Cassie has done everything possible to capture people’s attention. Unfortunately, this came back to bite her when shawty sent a Twitpic saying come and get this. Even though her face was concealed by the glare of the camera, it was clear what was going on with that Valentine’s Day tweet…
Theory: Diddy put the kibosh on Cassie’s account after realizing she was, er, spreading too much information about her upcoming album.
