It’s A Boy! Monica Tweets Keyshia Cole’s Birth

Apparently, this is the week for R&B babies. Keyshia Cole went into labor today (March 2), according to her close friend, Monica, who’s been keeping fans abreast of Cole’s progress this afternoon via Twitter (@MonicaMyLife).

Monica’s first status update came around 2:30 p.m. ET, stating: “RT everyone is calling me &asking about KC. She’s doing great. She's in active labor but the baby has not been born yet as reported.”

According to Monica, Cole has been in labor since last night, and her fiancée, Cleveland Cavaliers baller Daniel “Boobie” Gibson, was by her side in the delivery room.

The Atlanta singer later advised fans that Cole’s baby will be named after Gibson: “@MissBreaBabie yes.. It's a boy and he will be named after his father. I love that. Lots of Men really love being named after they're dad.”

Monica also posted about her own experience giving birth to her sons Rocko and Romelo and praised Cole’s strength: “@misssha75 KC is a tropper. She's got alot of support.Her husband2be, &ms.Yvonne are right there. Romelo was making her laugh on the phone.”

There was a false alarm in early February when an NBA sportscaster reported that Gibson wasn’t at a game because he was in the hospital with Cole. —Clover Hope
