It's Official, Folks! 'Grand Theft Auto V' Available On Sept. 17th

Many have been anticipating Rockstar's next open-world adventure, and were expecting it to drop this spring, but it looks like we'll have to wait just a bit longer. Okay, make that eight months, but it's worth it—trust us!!!

Rockstar Games, the brains behind the beautiful Grand Theft Auto franchise, released an official statement regarding the reason behind the delay, and gives an official release date for Grand Theft Auto V. Check it out below:

Dear all,

Today, we have an official release date to share with you: Grand Theft Auto V will arrive in stores on September 17, 2013.

We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time. GTA V is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require.

To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be. We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September – we thank you for your support and patience.

At this point, a release date is all that any gamer really needs now. Something to mark on their calendars as they continue to wait for GTA V to drop. Rockstar Games is one of the premiere developers in the video game industry and their goal of ensuring that this game is nothing less than a classic means a lot to fans who are anticipating this game.
