After celebrating his 29th birthday with a new Dreamville-Interscope deal and a star-studded show in New York, J. Cole decided on a boys’ night out at Gilded Lily in Chelsea with pal Kendrick Lamar there to celebrate with him, according to Page Six.
Normally a bro bash means guys hollering at as many chicks as possible and then blaming it on the alcohol, but not at Cole’s birthday. The North Carolina lyricist reportedly hung out in the back of the bar, ignoring all the women and even had security restricting public access to the group. A source says that “they kept to themselves and didn’t pay attention to the girls that were trying to get to them.”
Meanwhile, the Grammy-snubbed rapper KDot later took to the mic to wish Jermaine a happy birthday. Maybe this no groupie policy had something to do with Cole’s college sweetheart and rumored fiancée Melissa Heholt keeping him on a short leash.
