Jackie Lacey is chasing history trying to become the first African American and the first female to ever hold the position of Los Angeles District Attorney. Lacey, born and raised in Los Angeles, currently is the Los Angeles Chief Deputy District Attorney and is considered one of the strongest candidates in the race for DA. Lacey has a solid reputation for being an effective prosecutor. Her track record earned her endorsements from many highly credible sources including Steve Cooley (the current district attorney), The LA Times, and The LA Sentinel. Voting started on Tuesday and Lacey is currently leading the polls. Lets see if history is made!
