James Marsden Joins 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues"

The X-Men star is the latest cast member to join Will Ferrell and Co. in Anchorman: The Legend Continues. Everyone associated has been tight-lipped about the plot details for the movie, but sources have told Deadline directly that Marsden will play a rival anchor and nemesis to Ferrell's Ron Burgundy in the sequel.

It looks like that dream of an daytime reporter-filled brouhaha may come true.

Secrecy has been the name of the game, but there's still a chance for those in Atlanta to find a part in the movie. Adam McKay is directing the December 20, 2013 Paramout release with much of the original Anchorman cast reprising their roles, including Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, and Christina Applegate. The latter let slip that former Saturday Night Live star Kristen Wiig has joined the crew.

Marsden most recently flexed his comedic muscles in last year's Bachelorette and played Liz Lemon's love interest Criss Chros on NBC's 30 Rock.
