The sequel to the highly anticipated Amazing Spider-Man has taken a step in a bold, dramatic direction. Don't believe us? Well, have a look for yourself!
Marc Webb and his ever-busy Twitter feed have delivered on a promise for a new look at a familiar foe in the upcoming action-adventure sequel. As we reported previously, Jamie Foxx is set to play Electro (Max Dillon) and was photographed on location in Times Square yesterday.
It is clear to see that Webb and Foxx are embarking on uncharted territory leaving audiences, fans and cinephiles recharged with anticipation. Notice how the new design includes bulging veins, discolored eyes and a Na'vish skin tone. No details have been reported about the scene, what Foxx's character was doing or even why he is dressed so inconspicuously. These do follow the tropes that his character Max Dillon might have worn in his pre-Electro life as a fiery spark plug. The scene could be an early part of his life or a major plot where Spidey and Electro's paths cross.
Foxx previously described his look, saying, "It won't be green and yellow. It will be a different color. They want something for the future. They want to have it more grounded and not as comic book-y, so it won't be green and yellow. They want to try new things, like a liquid rubber and things like that, and there are all these bolts and stuff in my arms when they are hanging me upside-down and trying to figure out what [happened]. How did he become this way?
What do you think of these new changes? Are they impressive? Or do they make you recall Arnold Schwarzenegger's attempt at playing Mr. Freeze in the Batman movie?
