Janet Denies Rumors of Getting Back With JD

Janet Jackson says she and Jermaine Dupri have not gotten back together, contrary to speculation.

The singer appeared on Atlanta's Q100, The Bert Show, to discuss her former flame who she credits in the past for helping boost her sometimes low self-esteem, which dated back to her childhood.

Rumors of the couple's breakup apparently escalated when Dupri didn't attend Michael Jackson's funeral. But in to an interview done this year with VIBE, Dupri said he has a problem with funerals overall. Last week, PEOPLE reported that Jackson, 43 and Dupri, 37, were still together.

"They never really broke up," a source told People. "Jermaine wanted to give her some space when Michael died."

On The Bert show, Jackson said, "I'm not the type of girl that stays in touch with your ex like that. Jermaine is one of my best friends. I love him to death. We're still connected. We're still good friends. We still talk." --Linda Hobbs
