Jay-Z and Beyoncé Lose Bid To Trademark Blue Ivy’s Name
Looks like Hip Hop’s reigning couple can’t win at everything.
Jay-Z and Beyoncé have lost the bid to trademark their daughter Blue Ivy’s name, Buzz60 reports. The moniker, inspired by the artists’ work and favorite number (IV), has been used by a Boston event planning company since 2009, meaning ample time to trump the parents’ attempts at making more dollars off of just being themselves. Bey was reportedly trying to trademark the name so that she can use it as the title of her own line of baby clothes and products. Maybe this child was meant for a more lucrative destiny.
