Jay-Z and Kanye Sit Atop the Billboard 200 With 436K In First Week Sales

As reported earlier, Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch The Throne was expected to sell something over 400k, with HitsDailyDouble projecting 436,079 copies [320,893 (digital) and 115,186 (physical)].

Now, the official numbers are in. Billboard reports that Watch The Throne arrived at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, selling 436,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. It’s the second-largest sales week of the year for an album, behind only the 1.1 million start of Lady Gaga’s Born This Way. The Throne reigns supreme! —Keenan Higgins
