Singer, actress and American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez will be receiving the 2014 Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards. J.Lo is the first woman to receive this honor, joining the likes of past honorees Stevie Wonder and Prince, according to Billboard.
"Jennifer Lopez is one of the most iconic performers of her generation,” says Larry Klein, producer of the Billboard Music Awards. “We are thrilled to honor her historic career with the 2014 Icon Award and will be on the edge of our seats lik e everyone else when she takes the stage."
She and rapper Pitbull will also hit the stage to perform the anthem for this year's FIFA World Cup "We Are One (Ole Ola)" for the first time. The BX native will premiere a new song from her upcoming album, A.K.A (due June 17), called "First Love."
The awards will air on ABC on May 18 at 8pm ET.
