Jill Scott Joins Derek Luke In CBS Detective Drama, 'Second Sight'

Philadelphia's own Jill Scott has been cast to play a role in the new drama pilot Second Sight.

If the show, which will star Derek Luke in the central role, gets picked up, it will air on CBS and focus on an investigative team within the New Orleans Police Department. Luke's character, Detective Paul Giroux, is a part of a team whose lead detective is suddenly afflicted with an autoimmune virus that causes hallucinations that reflect his subconscious, and which interferes with/informs his investigations.

Scott will play Dr. Callier, a specialist that works closely with the detectives, helping Detective Ross Tanner with his ocular disease.

She joins the aforementioned Derek Luke, Kim Dickens, Erik Jensen, Madison Moellers and Jason Lee in the CBS crime-drama. Up next for the successful singer-songwriter is David E. Talbert's rom-com Baggage Claim.
