In light of the Trayvon Martin case and the senseless acts of violence plaguing our communities daily, Dr. Rob "Biko" Baker, executive director of the League of Young Voters, hosts an in-depth panel to discuss the much-needed conversation on crime and anti-violence efforts. Confirmed participants include Trymaine Lee (MSNBC), Michael Skolnik (GlobalGrind.com), Simon Vozick-Levinson (Associate Editor, Rolling Stone), Jessica Pierce (NAACP) and Jamira Burley (Executive Director, Philadelphia Youth Commission), who will engage in an open dialogue about the next steps to increase the peace in our nation.
The "No Guns Allowed" campaign was started by the League of Young Voters after rapper Snoop Lion released a song of the same name, promoting anti-violence on the streets.
"‘No Guns Allowed’ is a really important song to me,” Snoop said in a statement. “I’m humbled that an organization like the League of Young Voters Education Fund supports what I’m saying in it and is taking action. Especially since they have been doing work for a long time to spread an anti-violence message in our communities.”
