JoJo's talent extends well beyond her years. Even in the midst of an on ongoing battle with her former label, the 22-year-old songstress delivered her hits, both past and present, in The Fader and Vitamin Water #Uncapped summer series at the Alger House in West Village, New York on Monday (August 26). The Boston-bred singer put her vocal prowess on display, accompanied by a four-piece band and two background singers. She struck notes of nostalgia with performances of "Too Little Too Late," her rendition of Drake's "Marvin's Room" and mix tape favorite "I Get By."
For her performance of the Toto-sampled track "Anything," Jo' tapped Toronto musician Francesco and Cali rapper Casey Veggies for a special verse. The fiery-headed vocalist even weaved in a sexy rendition of Sade's "Sweetest Taboo." She then topped off her set with a return to her breakout single. “Before we go any further, I think it’s right that we take it back,” she smiled, before launching into “Leave (Get Out)." Now that's what you call a comeback.
