‘Mad Men’ star Jon Hamm slammed reality queens Kim and Paris in a recent interview with Elle UK
, having everything but glowing remarks to make about celebrity culture.
“Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated," he told Elle. "Being a f**king idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you're rewarded significantly."
Of course, it didn’t take Miss Kardashian much time to respond. Kim tweeted on Monday:
“I just heard about the comment Jon Hamm made about me in an interview. I respect Jon and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that not everyone takes the same path in life. We’re all working hard and we all have to respect one another. Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, 'stupid,' is in my opinion careless."
Hamm isn’t the first to express strong feelings toward the Kardashians. In an interview with the Huffington Post in December, actor Jonah Hill said the fact that the reality show could be bigger than a show like Mad Men is “disgusting,” also stating:
“The Kardashians are as famous as our president. What does that tell you about how skewed our society is?”
While we agree that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, do you feel Hamm's comments were harsh? Let us know. –Stephanie Long
