Yesterday, we told you about how Justin Bieber had come out in support of Chris Brown recently and said that he would be pulling for Breezy to win a Grammy at the 2013 Grammy Awards next month. But, as it turns out, Biebs also thinks another artist really, really deserves to win a Grammy Award this year—himself. In a new interview with Billboard, which Bieber did in support of his new Believe Acoustic album, Bieber admits that he thinks he deserved to win a Grammy for Believe this year despite getting snubbed by the Grammy committee.
"I felt the same way Scooter felt," Bieber told Billboard, referring to a Twitter rant that his manager Scooter Braun went on shortly after the Grammy nominees were announced in December and Bieber's name was missing. "I just can't really…it's good that he can put it out there and say that. He had my back just like any manager would. My whole life I've dreamed of winning a Grammy. At this point, the excitement of that has gone down. I'm more excited to just make great music for my fans. That's just something that if it happens, it happens."
We think it'll happen sooner than later. In fact, we think it's a crime that Believe—or one of its' singles—didn't get nominated for a Grammy this year. Biebs has done more than enough over the course of the last 12 months or so to warrant a Grammy. But, for now, he'll have to sit and wait his turn to take home a Grammy. Don't worry, though. Despite his disappointment, he doesn't sound all that worried about not getting a Grammy nod this year.
"[I'm] happy for the other artist who got nominated and have won Grammys," he said. "I'm 18 and I think that I have a lot ahead of me, so I'm not worried."
Us, either. Maybe next year, Biebs? Yeah, maybe next year.
