The picture liked around the world was almost a lost image.
During an interview at the Cannes Lions Creativity Conference (June 17) in France, Kanye West explained that his Instagram record-breaking wedding photo with Kim Kardashian took four days to perfect since famed photographer Annie Leibovitz backed out of shooting the superstar couple the day before their nuptial ceremony.
Yeezy said the reason for Leibovitz's decision was because she was "scared of the idea of celebrity." The newlyweds stressed over the look of the photo because the colors of the decadent flower wall were "off."
“Can you imagine telling someone who wants to just Instagram a photo, who’s the No. 1 person on Instagram, ‘We need to work on the color of the flower wall,’ or the idea that it’s a Givenchy dress, and it’s not about the name Givenchy, it’s about the talent that is Riccardo Tisci — and how important Kim is to the Internet," West said.
The "Bound 2" rapper also discussed his thoughts on branding and music, stating that he's not a fan of Samsung after he was asked about the company's deal with Jay Z, Page 6 reports.
“The reason I said I didn’t like Samsung is because throughout my entire life … I have to work with the No. 1, I can’t work with anyone but Jay Z, I can’t be with any girl but Kim because that’s the girl that I look at her pictures the most and get turned on the most. I am not going to represent any company except Louis Vuitton because that’s the best," he said.
Mr. West recently wrapped up his performance at the Bonnaroo festival last weekend, and is currently working with Rick Rubin on his forthcoming album.
