Seems like Kanye West causes controversy even if he doesn't mean to.
Gawker reports that before Rolling Stone decided to put Boston Bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on the cover of their August edition, they wanted to put Yeezy on instead. But West pulled out of the interview, which meant RS had to change cover stories at the last minute.
The Tsarnaev cover caused outrage last week on the web, and the mayor of Boston issued a strong statement condemning it while several retailers have refused to carry the issue. But the controversy could have been avoided if the West interview had run instead.
This is hardly the first time West and the media have failed to mix, but the irony that Kanye caused a kerfuffle simply by not doing something is a new level of crazy.
