Kanye West reportedly scored a huge pay day this weekend in Kazakhstan, the country made famous by Sacha Baron Cohen in the 2006 comedy Borat.
According to the TMZ, the Yeezus rapper raked in $3 million after being invited by President Nursultan Nazarbayev to rock the mic at his grandson's wedding Saturday night (August 30) in Almaty at the Hotel Royal Tulip.
The controversial leader, who is the country's first and only president since it won its independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, is said to be worth billions. Nazarbayev has called on A-list talent to perform in his homeland before, like Sting who was slated to perform a gig in 2011 but pulled out due to the alleged mistreatment of oil workers in the country.
West was said to have run through his chart-topping catalog for the special gig, performing hits "Can't Tell Me Nothing."
