It was all good just three days ago when Kanye West was wowing the student body of AASU at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Now, the masked avenger descended on night two at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn Wednesday (Nov. 20) for the Yeezus tour with a hefty
rant motivational speech in tow.
First item on the agenda was his discontent with the MTV Video Music Awards: "Bruno Mars won all the motherf*cking awards and sh*t. And I was thinking about what Rick Rubin told me, because I don’t give a f*ck about no TV show. What I care about is if you’re an artist and you work hard as f*ck and the streets say that you deserve that sh*t. Can’t no motherf*cking networks try to gas everybody up so they can sell some product with the prettiest motherf*cker out. I still ain’t see a video better than Beyonce video to this mother f*ckin' day."
Second was a conversation with Oprah: "I sat down with Oprah and she said, 'They scared of you 'Ye, they scared of you 'Ye.' ... She just said you have to learn how to fail. I said Oprah, it's a new day."
Then there's the bit about how the media tries to box him in, not being let into fashion shows and shots at Nike along with a potential new fashion deal. You see, he does this for his culture. Watch his impassioned monologue thanks to RealTalkNY above.
