Another day, another Kanye West motivational speech. During his two-night Yeezus tour affair at NYC's Madison Square Garden Saturday (Nov. 23), Kanye West had some choice words former Christian Dior designer and Yves Saint Laurent's creative director Hedi Slimane.
“He was once a friend of mine, in the time of Christian Dior," 'Ye said, according to PageSix. "And I used to wear his tight-ass jeans when I was on tour and get called names for it . . . And Hedi Slimane was a god who didn’t serve no bull(bleep) . . . But it takes a god to recognize another god. So when he told me you can come to my show, but you can’t come to see Phoebe [Philo] and you can’t come to see Riccardo [Tisci], that was odd. He tried to control me! He tried to tell me where I could go!”
This isn't the first time the Yeezus rapper has come for the fashion veteran. In an interview with Zane Lowe, 'Ye went off on Slimane.
“When I see Hedi Slimane, and it’s all like, okay, this is my take on the world," he said in the BBC 1 sit down. "Yeah, he’s got some nice $5,000 jeans in there. It’s some nice ones here and there, some good shit here and there. But we culture. Rap the new rock and roll. We culture. Rap is the new rock and roll. We the rock stars. [Zane Lowe: “It’s been like that now for a minute.”] It’s been like that now for a minute, Hedi Slimane! It’s been like that now for a minute. We the rock stars, and I’m the biggest of all of them.”
