There's reason to watch the (British) throne again. Kate Middleton and Prince William are expecting their first child.
"Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby," the palace said in a statement on Monday (Dec. 3).
E! News says that Kate Middleton was admitted into King Edward VII Hospital in London due to suffering hyperemesis gravidarum—in other words, a severe case of morning sickness. She's expected to remain in the hospital for just a few days and rest at home after. Though she hasn't hit the 12-week mark, she was forced into the announcement because of the hospitalization.
Still, there is much cause for celebration among the royal family. The palace said, "The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news."
Congrats to the happy parents-to-be!
