Katt Williams Announces Retirement From Stand Up Following Seattle Incident

/ December 4, 2012

Katt Williams has been at the center of controversy for the past couple of days, but has all the drama been the deciding factor to make the comedian quit stand-up?

According to USA Today, Williams was ordered to leave a Seattle hotel, hours after he was released from King County Jail following a dispute at a bar.

The ordeal led to an interview with KOMO TV, canceling his stand-up tour & ultimately his career. Williams was scheduled to play Houston on Friday, New Orleans on Saturday and Mobile, Alabama, on Sunday.

A teary-eyed Katt says in the interview, “I’m just gonna go ahead and announce my retirement from standup—I’m kinda done.”

Truthfully, we think it’s a good idea for Katt to take a break for a while. The pressure of a huge comedy tour paired with his personal issues might be getting the best of him. VIBE is praying for you homie.
