Kendrick Lamar’s Next Album Coming In September?

Top Dawg Entetainment continues to remain in the same position as their name suggests. After flagship artist Kendrick Lamar ruled 2013 following the release of his critically-acclaimed debut good kid, m.A.A.d city, fellow Interscope signee Schoolboy Q is poised to make a killing with his first major label LP Oxymoron. But still, the craving for more from fans never ceases. TDE’s top artists recently graced the cover of Billboard and not only discussed their team’s success but what folks can expect from them in the future. Peep clips below.

On Kendrick Lamar on Macklemore’s Grammy text:
“That text surprised me, but Macklemore is a genuine dude,” reflects Lamar. “However it panned out, I wish him much success. He touched people’s souls, and no one can take that away. Really, the whole Grammy moment was incredible. Not everyone gets that shot.”

On Schoolboy getting his first gun from his grandma:
Says Tiffith: “ScHoolboy is gangsta. When he first told me that story, I was like, ‘Your grandmother gave you your first gun? Really? I’m scared of your grandma – I’m going to make sure your contract is right!’ ”

On a possible Black Hippy release and Kendrick Lamar’s next album:
Meanwhile, Free thinks the long-awaited debut from Black Hippy – the supergroup featuring Lamar, Q, Rock and Ab-Soul – is likely to appear in 2014; Tiffith indicates that TDE is planning to release a new Lamar album this coming September, too.
