Kendrick Lamar Gets Sued Over ‘Section.80′ Song

Everything’s not all good for the g.o.o.d kid Kendrick Lamar. Before fans fawned over his big 2012 release, Section.80 was the first for-profit project he released. Unfortunately, that project is what’s landing him in some legal trouble. K.Dot is being sued for improper sampling on “Keisha’s Song (Her Pain).”

U.K. company Woolfsongs Limited—which manages works from Eric Woolfson and his music group, The Alan Parsons Project—claims that the group’s song “Old and Wise” was illegally sampled. The company allegedly reached out to Lamar to sort out the issue but no resolution was reached. The lawsuit demands an injunction. We’ll see how this all pans out.
