Kendrick Lamar Speaks on Grammy Snub, Salutes Macklemore

Kendrick is taking his losses like a champ.

XXL caught up with the good kid last night (Jan. 28) after he made cameos at J. Cole’s show at MSG then Dom Kennedy’s concert in New York to get his thoughts about his Grammy snub and losing to hip-pop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

“It’s well deserved; he did what he did, man,” Kendrick said. “He went out there and hustled and grinded. Everything happens for a reason; the universe comes back around, that’s how it go.”

The Compton native was nominated for seven Grammys and received none while the Seattle-based group swept all the rap categories, winning for Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance and Best New Artist.
