3x NBA scoring champion Kevin Durant is a proud representative of the DMV (DC, Maryland, VA). His hoop dreams began on the hardwood courts in Maryland and he hasn’t forgotten. Nike has unveiled the latest colorway for Durant’s signature shoes, the KD VI’s and they’re modeled after his favorite seafood. “In the summer times we would have at least four or five crab feasts,” Durant says in the promotional clip. “In the culture from where I come from, crab is a big deal.”Durant helped design the sneakers, which take the form of Maryland’s official crustacean, the Blue Crab. The “Maryland Blue Crab” KD VI’s come equipped with an aqua blue/red colorway that mirrors the crabs’ legs and pinchers, intricate gold speckles and a seaweed green accent on the soles. Nike plans to serve ‘em up in limited quantities beginning Nov. 29th.
