Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are two of the most appreciated acts on Comedy Central. According to Deadline, the two stars of Key & Peele will be working with comedy kingpin Judd Apatow for an untitled feature.
With word that their successful Comedy Central show has been picked up for a fourth season, Key & Peele are teaming up with Judd Apatow to write a new film, which will serve as a vehicle for the two stars.
Excitedly Apatow was trying to keep the situation to himself, but he commented to Deadline about working with his new writing partners, saying, "I love the guys because they are riotously, make you sick because you can't stop laughing, funny. I think Key and Peele are capable of making the movie that America desperately needs right now."
This marks the second time the Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues producer has worked with the comedic pair. Apatow will produce the picture through his Apatow Productions, and Key and Peele will serve as executive producers. As of press time, there is no director attached to the project, but surely you can bet some strong names will want to be added to the call sheet.
Plot details are also being kept under wraps for now.
Key & Peele is currently in its third season, and the former comic star will appear next year in Let's Be Cops with Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. and Kitchen Sink with Bob Odenkirk and Patton Oswalt.
