Kid Cudi Reveals Plans After G.O.O.D. Music

/ April 5, 2013

Kid Cudi hit up Big Boy’s Neighborhood radio show on Power 106 to discuss his departure from Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music roster.

The Indicud rapper spoke about working on his own label Wicked Awesome, which could be “a mixture of music, movies, producing TV shows” or wherever his creativity takes him. “I just wanna learn and I wanna grow,” he said. “I wanna consume as much information as possible. I wanna be great…”

Cudi also said his main goal is to bring authenticity back to music. “Fuck your money, fuck your jewelry, fuck your cars,” he added. “That shit don’t make you cool anymore in hip-hop.”

He promises that his label will be about helping motivate young people to chase their dreams. “I wanna speak on behalf of the average kid in America that is just young and trying to figure out it…and looking for something real, no matter what it is.”

The Wizard insists that he and Ye will always be family over anything, which makes his transition to independence even smoother. Listen to Cudi’s full interview below.
