Kris Humphries Splits From Divorce Lawyer Ahead of Kim Kardashian Court Hearing

While the marriage may have only lasted for 72 days, Kim Kardashian and Brooklyn Net Kris Humphries' divorce struggle is almost at the one-year mark.

The NBA player has remained steadfast in his quest to annul his marriage to the reality star, slowing down the divorce process because he feels the matrimony was based on fraud. In papers filed in L.A. Superior Court on Thursday, Humphries' lawyer Marshall Waller split, citing "irreconciable differences" for an "irremediable breakdown" in their attorney-client relationship, People reports.

Waller tried to make the claims that Kimmy was using her pregnancy with boyfriend/ rapper Kanye West's baby as leverage to force her divorce. "I do not want to be married to (Humphries) when I have my baby," Kim said, according to court docs. "I am requesting the status of my marriage be determined for now for not only my health and welfare but also for the health and well-being of my unborn child."

Lawyers representing both parties were scheduled to meet Friday, where the judge was also expected to rule on granting Kardashian a divorce or set a trial date.
