Lady Gaga has cancelled the Indonesia leg of her tour following threats from a few extremist Islam residents.

According to TMZ, Gaga’s management team announced today major security concerns for her June 3 show in Jakarta after some Muslims felt that the pop singer’s “risqué costume and dance moves,” corrupted the youth.

Political figures in Indonesia also voiced their concern on the apparent inappropriate-ness of Gaga. “It’s intended to destroy the nation’s morality,” said Cholil Ridwan, chairman of the Indonesian Council of Ulema.

After Indonesian police refused to issue a permit for the show, the Queen Monster had no choice but to pull out of the event.

With over 52,000 tickets sold, the apologetic singer took to Twitter to express her sadness on cancelling on her Indonesian fans: “I’m so very sorry to the fans and just as devastated as you if not more. You are everything to me. I will try to put together something special for you. My love for Indonesia has only grown.”
