Lady Gaga is doing her part in giving back to the educational system after starting a foundation aimed at empowering young people at Harvard University.
Joined by Oprah Winfrey, spiritual leader Deepak Chopra, and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, kicked off the Born This Way Foundation.
"I believe that if you have revolutionary potential, you must make the world a better place and use it," stated "Poker Face" singer Gaga to a crowd at Harvard according to Yahoo News.
The idea was inspired by Gaga, who was bullied as a teenager.
Gaga's mother will serve as president of the foundation, "She is the sole reason that I am here today. She has always believed in me. She has always been my support, and she makes me want to inject that sense of family and support into the world."
It's nice to see pop culture icons giving back.
