Since staying out of the spotlight after cancelling her Born This Way ball and recuperating from a hip surgery in February, the Mother Monster returned to the masses at the gay pride rally in New York City Friday night (June 28).
Lady Gaga took to the podium to sing the national anthem at the rally, another high note for the gay community after Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act that prevented federal recognition of same-sex marriages earlier this week.
The "Born This Way" songstress, who has been a well-known advocate for LGBT rights, took to Twitter to support the rulings. "We stand tall today.#DomaStruckDown So many fought for so long. Be proud, the prejudice are now the minority," she wrote.
After giving an impassioned speech at the event, she remixed a line in "The Star-Spangled Banner" in honor of the festivities, singing, "Oh say, does our star-spangled flag of pride yet wave." Watch her performance above.
