2013 was not a good year (professionally) for Lady Gaga: she reportedly split with longtime manager Troy Carter and her highly anticipated ARTPOP LP was a mere blimp on the Billboard charts with just 258,000 copies sold in its first week, a far cry from Born This Way, which hit the one million mark in the same amount of time just two years ago.
Now, the eccentric singer has only “Applause” as a single with a video while the fate of “Do What U Want” hangs in the gallows. This past weekend, the Versace spokesperson addressed the video delay on her Little Monsters site where she placed blame on money hungry investors.
“Those who have betrayed me gravely mismanaged my time and health and left me on my own to damage control any problems that ensued as a result,” she lamented. “Millions of dollars are not enough for some people. They want billions. Then they need trillions. I was not enough for some people. They wanted more.”
