Lead Homicide Detective Wanted Zimmerman Charged With Manslaughter From the Beginning

Vibe / March 28, 2012

VIBE plans on bringing you guys all the details in the tragic Trayvon Martin case. In the latest reports, the lead homicide detective investigating the case says he wanted George Zimmerman slapped with manslaughter charges since the incident first took place back in February.

As ABC News reports, investigator Chris Serino of the Sanford Police Department says he wanted Zimmerman placed behind bars, but the state Attorney’s Office said there was not enough evidence to make an arrest.

Serino also stated, in an affidavit the night Trayvon was killed, that he was unconvinced by Zimmerman’s version of events in which he claimed self-defense.

Hopefully justice is served soon in this case, as the outcry for Zimmerman’s conviction is being heard around the world.—Keenan Higgins
