LeBron James married his high school sweetheart Savannah Brinson on Saturday (Sept. 14) in San Diego.
The wedding took place at the Grand Del Mar hotel and was attended by some 200 people, including several of James' Miami Heat teammates. The three-day event included a “welcome barbecue” on Friday and a “farewell brunch” on Sunday. The couple exchanged their vows at the hotel's Capella Chapel, according to US Weekly. But it's the wedding singers that are making headlines.
Reports are surfacing that Beyonce and Jay Z flew in to perform their 2003 hit "Crazy in Love" with a full band. Beyonce, currently on tour in Brazil for her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, came in just for the occasion, despite having a show in Rio De Janeiro the night before and Sao Paulo this evening.
High security measures were taken to keep the ceremony private. Guests like Ne-Yo, Miami Heat owner Micky Arison, coach Erik Spoelstra, teammates Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh were ushered in under umbrellas to prevent their photos being taken. While photos from the wedding have yet to surface, James' teammates were not shy about their presence in San Diego.
